Welcome
St Mary's Catholic School is a Catholic K-10 school in the Bathurst diocese with 207 students. It is situated in Wellington, a small town of 4500 in Central West NSW.
The mission of St Mary's is:
"to promote a caring, Catholic community within which individuals are encouraged, and given the opportunity, to achieve to their full potential: spiritually, socially, academically and physically".
The K-10 curriculum includes mandatory Key Learning Areas and the Diocesan Religious Education program - "The Christ We Proclaim". Primary students learn Wiradjuri, the local Aboriginal language. Learning Support facilities are available for students requiring specialised programs. The school has a strong emphasis on the use of Information Communication Technology as a learning and teaching tool. St Mary's is well-resourced with specialist rooms including a library, computer laboratory, Music, Art and Food Technics rooms, a Woodwork/Metalwork centre and in 2011 the new hall and Language Centre was opened.
St Mary's enjoys very strong family support and involvement and students have the opportunity to participate in many extra-curricular activities, including regular practice of faith through prayer and liturgy, Solar Car Challenge, Chess, Debating, Mock Trial, representative and inter-school sport, the Wellington Eisteddfod, and community and charitable works.
